“Tasman” is a Stichnoth 46 Clipper Cutter, built in 1992 at the renowned Jachtwerf Volharding in the Netherlands — a true bluewater cruiser for sailors who live for the ocean. With her robust steel hull (6 mm, 20 mm at the keel base), long keel with skeg, and a displacement of 20 tons, she handles heavy weather with ease and confidence. Her deep blue AWL-Grip hull and teak-laid cockpit give her a timeless, classic presence that draws attention in every marina.
Between 2023 and 2024, Tasman underwent an extensive refit, including a complete navigation electronics upgrade, new running rigging, interior improvements, and a full overhaul of the Perkins M90 main engine. Every critical system has been refreshed with long-distance cruising in mind — she is fully prepared to leave for bluewater sailing immediately.
Below deck, Tasman welcomes her crew with a warm teak interior, generous headroom of 1.95 m, and ample storage — a real home on all seas. She carries 800 litres of diesel and 800 litres of freshwater in steel and stainless-steel tanks, both monitored by modern Simarine displays. Thoughtful insulation and a clean technical layout throughout make her practical, safe, and easy to maintain on long passages.
Power comes from a Perkins M90 diesel engine (83 HP), completely overhauled in 2024. With a fuel consumption of only ~4 litres per hour, she offers an impressive range of about 900 nautical miles — reliable, efficient, and built to endure.
Her rig is by Reckmann, featuring a sloop-cutter configuration, a Hood Sailmakers wardrobe (furling mainsail, genoa, cutter sail), and all new running rigging (2024). A full set of Andersen winches ensures smooth, controlled sail handling offshore.
All navigation electronics were renewed in 2024: a B&G Vulcan 12R multifunction display, HALO 20+ radar, B&G NAC-3 autopilot with Simrad hydraulic drive, Garmin AIS 800, B&G V60 VHF with H60 wireless handset, and a complete NMEA2000 network deliver professional-level situational awareness and safety at sea.
Tasman is being sold for health reasons and will be handed over fully equipped with everything currently on board — tools, spares, safety gear, communication systems, galley, workshop. She has circumnavigated the world multiple times, proving her strength, elegance, and endurance. She embodies that rare combination of capability, character, and soul that defines a true bluewater yacht.
